Season Preview and Expectations:
The Utah Avalanche RLFC is located in Salt Lake City, and was formed in January 2011 in an attempt to promote rugby league on the west coast. Led by George Tupou, who has 20+ years of experience in playing and coaching rugby league in Manly, Australia the Avalanche have a fertile base of playing interest and community support similar to the exciting developments in the Hawaiian region.
The main focus of the Avalanche and the AMNRL in 2011 is to foster the existing player interest by providing immediate game opportunities for local players. With significant support from the local rugby membership and increasing player development led by George, the AMNRL look forward to scheduling games in 2011 featuring established clubs from the AMNRL club competition, along with developing regions such as the Midwest and Pacific.
The Utah Avalanche is proud to announce Sione Kinikini as the inaugural club captain.
