USA Tomahawks
The USA TOMAHAWKS is the national team of the American National Rugby League and thus represent the very elite Rugby League players in this country.
At all levels of Rugby League, (from youth to international) the pinnacle of a players achievements would be to represent their country. It is an honour many players strive to attain but very few are able to achieve.
Selection as a Tomahawk presents a player with the opportunity to represent the USA both at home and abroad on the world stage. Those fortunate enough to have joined the select group of Tomahawks know that as this game grows, so to will the demands of maintaining this honour.
The beauty of all sports and specifically Rugby League is that you are only as good as your last game. At the international level the incarnation of a player can be shortlived and the opportunity of the next best in line (assuming your position) makes the honour of representing your country so precious.
The 2011 season saw the USA Tomahawks qualify for their first ever Rugby League World Cup by defeating Jamaica and South Africa in the Atlantic Region Qualifying Tournament hosted by the AMNRL in Philadelphia. The next two years leading to the RLWC in England, Wales, Ireland, and France will be an important schedule of international matches to prepare the Tomahawks for the world stage which will begin on St.Particks Day when they take on the Ireland Wolfhounds in the Donnybrook Cup. A number of international are currently being scheduled for the 2012 season and will be announced soon.
The USA Tomahawks are currently ranked 11 in the world!
