American National Rugby League president David Niu will be in the UK this week to take part in the initial planning stages for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup.
As the AMNRL’s delegate to the Rugby League International Federation, Niu will attend the RLIF’s AGM in London.
The four-day visit will include World Cup briefings and workshops, site inspections of venues for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, an official reception at the British Parliamentary House of Commons and a Wigan Warriors Super League game.
While in the UK, Niu will also visit with city officials in Widnes where the USA Tomahawks will be based during their World Cup campaign.
"I am very excited to be visiting with the Widnes club when in the UK developing plans for our 2013 RLWC campaign,” says Niu.
“I am very familiar with the proud history of the club. Everyone involved with the AMNRL and the USA Tomahawks looks forward to enjoying the first class rugby league facilities at Stobart Stadium, and creating close ties with the Widnes rugby league community."
The RLIF AGM opens on Tuesday.
