EAGLETAG IN NORTH CAROLINA
Dale Harwood grew up in Ocala, Fl, where he was fortunate to watch and play many different sports. He has been a part of the United States Marine Corps for 17+ years and has played six out of the seven football codes. Whilst enjoying the history and tradition on how each code has developed he became fascinated by the courageous nature of the players, the raw power and skill of the sport of rugby league. This interest has developed into a vision to build rugby league programs in Eastern North Carolina at all levels from kids to adult.
Dales short term goal for rugby league development in the region is to:
- offer all ages and skill levels the opportunity to play the sport of Rugby League in a fun summer environment that is affordable to players as well families
- initiate and grow the sport of Rugby League in North Carolina
- inform and familiarize regional athletes and families of a Summer sport that can benefit Fall sports in North Carolina, enhancing players’ Speed, Strength, Stamina, Teamwork, and Fair Play
- support the American National Rugby League with a North Carolina team whose long-term goal is to train athletes for the USA Tomahawks squad
The first program to start this summer will be an Eagletag Tournament featuring teams from the local military base. A coaches meeting will be on June 27 to announce the teams and tournament rules. If you are in the region and have an interest in entering a team or participating, please contact Dale by email at email@example.com
