Tomahawks To Tour Down Under

The USA Tomahawks will be preparing for an extensive international season with a four match tour of Australia in February.

The tour will see the Tomahawks on show in traditional country Rugby League areas which will create tremendous interest for fans.

The four match tour will feature games against:

Wyong Roos at Wyong on Saturday, February 7 at 7pm

Goulburn Stockmen at Goulburn on Wednesday, February 11 at 5pm

Canberra Raiders and Tonga in a three way matchup on Saturday, February 14 at Seiffert Oval at 4.30pm

St.George Dragons All-star Squad at 6pm on Wednesday, February 18 at
Kogarah Oval (The two teams will contest the "Joanne Mackay Helping Hand Cup", in a match organized to support the Joanne Mackay Breast Cancer Foundation)

The Tomahawks will field a strong squad with players joining the team
from overseas clubs such as Alf Duncan, the prolific pointscoring
center, Ian Mortimer who is the son of former Australian representative Chris Mortimer, and the inclusion of New Jersey Sharks representatives
recently signed with the Wyong Roos, Phil Shipos and Greg Minninger.

A number of Tomahawk internationals will be unavailable to tour for
personal reasons and injury. Those being Justin Zadnik, Danny Bull, Greg
Stelutti, and Christian Rahui.

An interesting selection is Nate Smith from the Univeristy of
Louisville Division One Football program. Nate holds a number of school kicking and punting records and at the recent NFL Combine was clocked at 4.38secs for the 40yd dash. A former All American High School Soccer player, it is expected that Nate will adpat quickly to the game of Rugby League and be the first of a number of highly talented Division One
Footballers preparing to convert to Rugby League in 2004.

During this tour the Tomahawks will train with several NRL clubs and
also under the guidance of USA National Coach, Shane "Magic" Millard.
