Development Work continues...
The off season may be upon us but the development team of the AMNRL
have been hard at work spreading the Rugby League word and promoting
awareness and understanding of the game at youth level. Led by Bill
Hansbury and Ron Artingstall a full day of skills and drills was
on the agenda for Strathaven Middle School in SE Pennsylvania.

The
American NRL in conjunction with the NRL in Australia and Fox Sports
International will be announcing the schedule for the NRL season
on Foxsportsworld soon. The
excitement and interest generated by the playoffs of 2001 have led
to the full season being featured in 2002 and presented by the AMNRL.

A fantastic night of entertainment and Rugby League was enjoyed by many on hand
at the Red Cross-American Rugby League Challenge.
At
Jack Pearson Field, in the suburbs of Philadelphia, a huge crowd gathered to witness
a fantastic game of Rugby League and also join in a community effort to raise
funds for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

To Benefit The American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund
The AMNRL is proud to announce the "AMERICAN RUGBY LEAGUE CHALLENGE"
to benefit the American Red Cross on Thursday, October 4, 2001 at Jack
Pearson Field, Glen Mills at 7pm. The
AMNRL will coordinate an exhibition Rugby League match featuring the USA ALLSTARS
and the WORLD ALLIES, comprising both homegrown and foreign born players
from all over America to raise funds for the victims, families, and heroes of
the September 11 terrorist attack. 100% of funds and donations received
will go to this effort. Second
round of Playoffs this Weekend
More exciting Rugby League coverage from the National Rugby League in Australia
will be proudly presented by the American NRL in association with the Australian
NRL and Foxpsorts International this weekend.

Asia Pacific Cup
The
Asia Pacific Cup scheduled for April 2002 in Hawaii has received final confirmation
from each nation of their involvement and an official announcement from the RLIF
is expected this week. Although details of sponsors and potential television coverage
is still in development, the tournament dates are in place.

bids for 2005 Student World Cup The
American National Rugby League is making way to bring the Student World Cup to
the United States in 2005. Niel Wood, Director of the Student Rugby League, is
reviewing a formal bid for the tournament from the AMNRL. The Student World Cup
will bring 12 nations to the United States to compete over ten days for the championship
world title.

Pending
the final approval from the Rugby League international Federation (RLIF), the
American National Rugby League will take another step toward the expansion of
Rugby League globally with the introduction of the Asia Pacific Cup competition

the second of the double header at Sea Isle City, NJ the Media Mantarays outgunned
