Rugby World Cup
Ticket Raffle!!!
The Scott “Boz” Pressler Memorial Rugby Foundation & Scholarship Fund, Inc - sponsor of rwcticketraffle.com was formed to primarily foster national and international competition in rugby and to support and develop amateur athletes for that competition in the Fairfield County, Connecticut, USA region emphasizing youth, charity and further improvement and establishment of area rugby facilities. Boz was a long time resident of Fairfield County who immensely enjoyed both his rugby and the friendships he made all over the world through the sport. Probably his proudest moment playing rugby was in Australia at a Northern Suburbs Rugby Union Football Club trials match in 2002, where playing flanker at 38, he set up former Wallaby, Richard Tombs, for a try.
Boz‘s involvement with the sport was at an age when most of us just starting out on career paths after university often find ourselves financially strapped. It was in his later years when Boz was in his 30’s and had achieved greater financial success he would often recall how if not for the generosity of past teammates, his initial involvement with the sport would have had to have been greatly curtailed.
Boz’s memories of past teammates generosity prompted him to take a particular interest in the careers of younger talented players. He was often an impetus and contributor to fundraising efforts to help younger players compete at higher levels especially if lack of funds were an issue. As such, the Boz Foundation has been formed by a few of his friends to carry on the tradition of generosity shown to and repaid by Boz. One of the main aims of the foundation is to enable more talented area rugby athletes compete at the highest level by removing some the financial burdens associated with doing so.
