Apple pope makes his return to the Axemen
After almost an entire season rehabbing injuries, the Axemen human wrecking ball, Apple Pope has been cleared to make his return to the playing field. Apple was one of the stand out players for the Axemen last year and after watching him at practice Coach Spinner Howland said, "It is very obvious that he is ready to go!"
Apple has been out of the Axemen line up along with his brother Taco after both suffered neck and back injuries during the 2006 season. It is not a surprise after the force that apply to their bodies with the devastating force they impact players with. Both have been a big lose during 2007 campaign. Apple has been at practice sessions for the last 3 weeks and his fitness level is improving every week and his size and strength are slowly returning.
Although he has lost some weight during the injury process it was very apparent that his speed has increased and his "hunger to play" has grown with every game he watch from the sideline. Coach Howland went on to say, "With Apple coming back and the new "Hardmen" we have found in Matt Henderson, Riley Acher, Chad Dionn and Jeff Witt, I think that it is going to be a long day for the New York team."
