Sharks have a Media feeding frenzy

A red hot NJ Sharks faced off against the Media Mantarays on their home field "Shark Park" in Levittown for Week 6 of the AMNRL Franklin Conference matchup.

Coming off a disappointing loss to Connecticut the Sharks had a solid turnout against a Media team that has struggled for consistent numbers all season.

The game was a high scoring one with a standout performances by debutant Chuck Bowman playing on the wing and playing at Fullback Phil Shipos returning from his short season in Australia. Combined with the other winger Kevin Castner, the speedy backs scored 6 tries between them offering little hope for Media who were never in the game.

Joe da Costa, playing in his first match for the Sharks also had a solid game, showing his strength and skill. He was strong in the tackle and setup opportunities with many offloads as he broke through tackles.

Media unfortunately playing with no substitutes were competitive, running in some good tries as Fred Gruhler and Ryan Blake continue to impress with their hard-running and solid defense. The Sharks are disappointed to have allowed as many tries as they did will need to refocus their efforts on containing the play-of-the-ball and defensive sets of six tackles.

With the win the Sharks consolidate their position at the top of the Franklin Conference. With two games left in the regular season, the Sharks play their next game down at the New Jersey shore against Glen Mills on Saturday July 19th.

Half-Time Score: Sharks 26 - Media 08
Full-Time Score: Sharks 58 - Media 26
