The American National Rugby League will celebrate Ten Years of Rugby League in America with the annual beach rugby league festival in the fabulous seaside location of Sea Isle City in New Jersey. The inaugural War at the Shore was held at Dealy Field in 1998 and featured the Philadelphia Bulldogs (who became the Philadelphia Fight) taking on the Glen Mills Bulls at the end of a rugby union tournament in an effort to capitalize on the existing fans at the field and introduce the sport of Rugby League to American sports fans. The combination of climate, location and the exciting atmosphere created by summer beach goers have combined to make the War At The Shore a feature event on the rugby league calendar of the AMNRL annually.

From the early days of the event, big crowds of old and new fans have gathered at the shore to cheer on their favorite teams. Initially the event featured locally based club teams but now the rugby league festival showcases all the AMNRL club teams, free food and giveaways for fans, along with skills and drills challenges to present and exciting day of fun in the sun for the whole family.

War At The Shore X promises to be the biggest summer party of the season in Sea Isle City and organizers expect the biggest crowd in the history of the event to fill Dealy Field. Fans won't be disappointed by the on field action as every match up has serious implications on the playoff race with all clubs a chance of qualifying for the final six playoff bracket.

Game One will see the local derby between the Fight and the Sharks that always brings out the competitive spirit of both clubs. The Sharks desperately need a win to stay in touch with the competition front runners, whilst the Fight are looking to continue quietly creeping up the competition ladder.

In Game Two the DC Slayers and NY Knights will do battle in a match that will see one team push away from mid table and the other potentially slide down to battle for contention to make the playoff bracket. Both sides have strong lineups and will be keen to put some form on the board to mount a run at the top two spots on the ladder.

The most intriguing match will be the third match of the day in a replay of the past few seasons national championship final. Both teams, Wildcats and Bulls have a perfect 5-0 record in 2007 and this match could not have been more perfectly scheduled to celebrate ten years of Rugby League in the USA. With kickoff set for 3pm it will be standing room only as the house full sign will go up at Dealy Field. The field will be circled with fans, one team will remain undefeated. This match is not to be missed!

To round out the days festivities, the Axemen from Florida will take on the Warriors from New Haven. A must win game for both teams. Both are noted for their uncompromising approach to the game and fans will be treated to a battle of muscle and might that will cap off a huge day of rugby league. Both teams are 2-3 in 2007. Both teams know this is a must win match. What a way to end the on field fun. Two teams desperate for victory.

Along with fans enjoying a full day of the dynamic action of the sport of Rugby League, the AMNRL will be giving away prizes, hosting a free cookout, presenting skills and drills challenges, and the big crowd will enjoy music and entertainment for the whole family.
