USA vs Japan Announced

The American National Rugby League continues to promote international Rugby League with news of coming internationals in the USA this Summer.

A feast of Rugby League action will be hosted by the AMNRL with the Japan Samurais, the Kagoshima Broncos, and the Russian Bears all scheduled to tour the USA.

With the Japanese Tour of the USA confirmed, details are still being developed between the AMNRL and the Russian Rugby League to finalize tour dates and match venues in July.

Friday, June 27 at 6pm will see the USA Tomahawks take on the Japan Samurais at Furey Field - Furey Rd, Upper Chichester (See bottom of page for Details). Post match at O'Flaghertys Pub 8pm

The following day, Saturday, June 28 the Kagoshima Broncos, Club Champions of the Japanese Rugby League, will battle the AMNRL Club Champion, New York Knights in the North Pacific Club Challenge Match at 3.30pm in Manhattan.

With the internationals being scheduled during the AMNRL club season, the curtain raiser in Manhattan will be the Connecticut Wildcats against the New Jersey Sharks in a cross conference matchup.

Both the Knights and Broncos will be aiming to win the inaugural trophy that both the AMNRL and JRL hope to develop into a long standing rivalry between the two nations top club teams.

The USA Tomahawks will be looking forward to an improved performance against the Samurais, with new young players being provided a great opportunity to be selected for international honors. It is understood that the Tomahawks coaching staff will be making major changes to the personnel for this match, after some indifferent performances from some established internationals in recent matches.

With the current C.D Ferrainola Cup Competition in full swing, it will be interesting to see what players step up to the next level as the Tomahawks prepare for the Samurais and Russian Bears in the AMNRL's feast of Summer Rugby League.
