2006 CD FERRAINOLA CUP IX KICKS OFF

The 2006 AMNRL season gets underway this week with the Glen Mills Bulls preparing to defend the Ferrainola Cup in the season opener against last year's semi finalists, the Philadelphia Fight on Wednesday, May 17 at 7pm at Jack Pearson Stadium. With the introduction of new clubs, Jacksonville Axemen (FLA), New Haven Warriors (CT), and Boston Braves (MA) the Franklin and Lincoln Conferences have been realigned.
The new conferences are:-

Franklin Conference:
Delaware Mantarays
Philadelphia Fight
New Jersey Sharks
Glen Mills Bulls
Washington DC Slayers
Jacksonville Axemen

Lincoln Conference:
New York Knights
Connecticut Wildcats
New Haven Warriors
Boston Braves
Northern Raiders

Other exciting match ups this weekend see the Slayers host the Axemen in the nations capital, and the Sharks will take on the Mantarays at Shark Park. Games in the Lincoln Conference have been rescheduled to a later date.

The 2006 AMNRL season should be one of the most exciting in the history of the competition along with tours by Cambridge University from England and the New Zealand Police National Team visiting during the year. In October the USA Tomahawks will be playing in the Atlantic Region World Cup Qualifying Bracket against South Africa, Japan, and the West Indies. Tournament details are developing, and the AMNRL hope to host the event in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
