WARRIORS PREPARE FOR BATTLE
As the 2006 National Rugby League season approaches us, one of the new faces of the competition, the New Haven Warriors, prepares for battle. The New Haven Warriors are fronted by club officials Blair Wards, Chris Willey, Adam Hamon, and Pat Psarras. Hamon has been an active player in the AMNRL for some 5 years with both the New York Knights and the Northern Raiders while Wards and Willey have only been involved in the competition for 1 year.
The warriors strengths come from an array of experienced athletes that include U.S based New Zealand and Australian players. One of the Warriors goals is to promote and develop the greatest contact sport on the earth to the U.S arena. The Warriors will be boosted by a vast array of talented players which include Former Samoan rugby sevens player Jako Ahoi, current Tomahawks' player Christian Rahui, Kiwi powerhouse Ewen Robinson, Hartford’s little general Carrick Pell and the Giant Samoan front rower Siose Muliumu.
The Warriors have formed an alliance with the well respected and talented Rugby Union club, the New Haven Old Blacks. New haven Old Blacks are currently seeded number 4 going into the prestigious Sweet 16 National Club Rugby Championships. The New Haven Warriors have been fortunate to receive the backing of several local businesses : K5 Arms exchange and Regiment Security from Milford, Data guard from Stamford, Playwright Pub and Kudeta from New Haven, Global Mortgage from Norwalk, and the reputable national Beer brand Coors Light.
