Tomahawks To Tour Australia
Commemorating
50 Years Since The First Tour Of Australia By An American Rugby
League Team
The
American National Rugby League continue to lead the way in international
Rugby League with the USA Tomahawks scheduled tour Australia in
February.
The
four match tour will feature games against:
- Australian
Police National Team on Thursday, February 6 at 7pm at Leichardt
Oval, Sydney
- Newtown
Jets at 6pm on Saturday, February 8 at Henson Park
(It has been 25 years since NFL Star and Superbowl Winner, Manfred
Moore played at Henson Park with the Jets)
- St.George
Dragons All-star Squad at 6pm on Wednesday, February 12 at
Kogarah Oval
(The two teams will contest the "Joanne Mackay Helping Hand
Cup", in a match organized to support the Joanne Mackay Breast
Cancer Foundation)
- Parramatta
Eels Premier League Team at 6.30pm on Saturday, February 15
at Cabramatta (The Eels are partnered with American Club Team,
the Media Mantarays in the AMNRL domestic competition)
The Tomahawks
will field a strong squad with players joining the team from overseas
clubs. A number of Tomahawk internationals will be unavailable to
tour for personal reasons and injury. Those being Shayne Mains,
Ed Woodbridge, Brian Warren, Chris Craig, Cory Sheridan, Rich Portale,
Greg Stelutti, and Carl Barr.
During
this tour the Tomahawks will train will several NRL clubs and also
under the guidance of USA National Coach, Shane "Magic"
Millard.
